Press Release Teapot 2011

Brian Kay has just conducted the first concert performance of the Gloria by Karl Jenkins with 1,200 singers in the Royal Albert Hall London. Hayley Westenra (NZ soprano) also featured earlier this year in a recording of the work with the The London Symphony Orchestra and the National Youth Choir of Great Britain under Jenkins.

Brian Kay (founder King's Singer) will also be directing the Teapot Nelson Summer School of Music 21 - 28 January 2011.

We look forward to preparing Duruflé's Requiem and Gounod's St. Cecilia Mass for two concert performances in Nelson Cathedral (27 -28 January 2011).

Both events in conjunction with our guest artists, The Tasman Brass Ensemble, who recently completed their first professional CD.

Nelson Summer School Concerts

Thursday 27 January 2011 at 7.30pm and Friday 28 December at 2pm

Both in Nelson Cathedral . These two concerts will be conducted by Brian Kay (former King's Singer) and they will perform the Duruflé Requiem and the Gounod St. Cecilia Mass. The accompanists will be Alan Gray (cathedral organist) and Bill Buck (piano).  Our soloists will feature Judy Bellingham (soprano), Michael Gray (tenor) and Howard Harvey (bass) together with the summer school of music choir.  Brian Kay is a former choral scholar of King's College Cambridge working under the direction of Sir David Willcocks CBE MC. 

15 - 22nd Jan 2012
are the advance dates for the summer school the year after next which will be directed by Jonathan Willcocks and feature The Tasman Brass Ensemble.
